Check road conditions in Houston after Beryl

HOUSTON — If you see roadblocks in the Houston area after Beryl, don’t drive around them. That’s the message from the Houston Office of Emergency Management after the storm tore through southeast Texas.

Downed power lines and out-of-order traffic lights were just some of the problems that occurred on Houston roads the morning after Beryl passed through. If traffic lights aren’t working, drivers should treat intersections as four-way stops.

Drivers should also avoid underpasses as they may still be flooded by water from the torrential rains brought by Beryl.

If you can stay off the road today, you should, Jennifer Reyna said.
