Cumberland County man hits cyclist in driving aggression incident

UPPER ALLEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — Upper Allen Township Police have arrested a man for a DUI incident that resulted in a bicyclist being struck by a truck.

According to Upper Allen Township Police, they were dispatched around 7:20 a.m. on Sunday, June 23 to a witness who had recorded an incident of road rage on his personal car camera.


According to police, the witness provided a video showing a pickup truck attempting to force a cyclist off the road.

During the incident, the driver of the pickup truck hit the cyclist, according to police.

This incident began on East Winding Hill Road near Orchard Boulevard and continued to the intersection of Gettysburg Pike and Cumberland Parkway.

Using the videotape provided, Upper Allen Township Police were able to determine that 57-year-old Donald Alleman was the driver of the pickup truck. Alleman turned himself in to police on Friday, June 28.

The charges Alleman faces include terroristic threatening, aggravated assault with a vehicle, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.

A preliminary hearing will be scheduled for a later date.
