How Gas Prices Changed in Buffalo Last Week

How Gas Prices Have Changed in Buffalo Over the Past Week

Pump prices remain flat this week as Americans return from their Fourth of July vacation. On average, prices remained about the same as last week and just 5 cents above their levels a month ago.

Motorists may see a bigger change, however, as Hurricane Beryl made landfall Monday morning, threatening oil and gas infrastructure along the southeast Texas coast. The storm has already shut down major oil and gas ports, with several Houston-area counties under flood warnings.

β€œFor now, we will likely continue to see swings in either direction with the national average rising, but as we approach August and the peak of hurricane season, there remains a risk that the national average could temporarily rise if we see a major storm in the wrong location,” GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said in a statement Monday.

Stacker compiled statistics on gas prices in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls, NY, metropolitan area using data from AAA. Gas prices are current as of July 8.
