Man wanted for rape turns himself in at JCC

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – A man accused of rape and sodomy in James City County turned himself in to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail on Monday, police said.

Damecus Demory White, 33, was wanted by James City County police after a months-long investigation into several alleged sex crimes, police said, and authorities obtained warrants for his arrest on June 26.

It was believed that White was temporarily living in the greater Williamsburg area.
