Man raped unconscious woman on New York street: NYPD

THE BRONX, NY (PIX11) – A man wrapped a belt around a woman’s neck and dragged her unconscious body between two parked cars before raping her, according to police and a viral video.

According to the NYPD, the 45-year-old woman was attacked around 3 a.m. on May 1 near 152nd Street and Third Avenue. The woman was walking down the street when a suspect came up behind her and put the belt around her neck. the video showed. (Warning: graphic video)


The video showed that the man, who covered his face with a white towel, then used the belt to drag the unconscious woman several meters along the sidewalk and into the street between two parked cars. Police said the suspect then raped her.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

According to the NYPD’s latest data, there have been 511 rapes so far in 2024 and an increase in other sex crimes across the city. The most rapes this year were reported in Brooklyn (149), followed by 141 in the Bronx and 114 in Queens, police said.

According to the statistics, 1,715 sex crimes were reported as of May 5, compared to 1,684 during the same period last year.
