Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run accident on I-4 in Kissimmee, cops say

KISSIMMEE, Florida. – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 4 in Kissimmee Monday afternoon.

The fatal accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-4, near mile marker 65, in the area of ​​the West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, troopers said in a news release.

The press release states that a man was outside a blue 2022 Toyota Corolla parked on I-4 with the hood open and may have crossed into the path of another vehicle.

According to police, the vehicle hit the man and drove away. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

No further information, such as the suspect vehicle, has been released. Investigators are on site and are gathering further details.

Due to a road closure in the area, traffic is being diverted to West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.
