Houston highways hit by flooding in some areas after Beryl

HOUSTON (KIAH) — Tropical Storm Beryl left heavy rain on Houston roads Monday, and many of those roads remained closed into the afternoon.

Houston Transtar reports that about 50 locations in the city have high water as of 2 p.m. One of the locations with high water is Highway 288 at the 610 South Loop, where a man had to be rescued by Houston Fire Department officials from the flooding.

There are also high water levels on portions of I-45 and I-10 on all sides of the city, including southbound I-45 between Tiki Drive and the Galveston Causeway Bridge. In Fort Bend County, the northbound Grand Parkway from the Harris/Fort Bend County line to Katy Gap is also closed.
