Marathon man charged with drunk driving, reckless driving and a half-dozen violations after leaving the scene of an accident

On Tuesday, May 8, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Cortland County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered a vehicle accident on McGraw Marathon Road in Cortlandville, but there was no driver involved.

According to the sheriff’s office, officers were able to locate the identified driver 25-year-old Michael J. Warner of Marathon not far from the crime scene. It was determined that Warner was intoxicated. Additionally, he was checked at the scene by emergency responders and then arrested for driving under the influence (DWI), a misdemeanor.

However, Warner faces additional DWI charges including: driving with 0.08 of 1% or more of alcohol, reckless driving, both misdemeanors, and 6 violations. He was taken to the sheriff’s office for processing and later released with uniform tickets. Warner is due in Cortlandville Municipal Court later this month.
