Utica Police seeking information on Lenox Avenue incident

UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — Utica Police are asking for the public’s help in investigating a shooting incident on Saturday, July 6.

Police were called to 1428 Lenox Avenue because of the incident. Upon arrival, they found a large after-hours party. Upon further investigation, officers found that several shots had been fired. Police stated that attendees were allegedly uncooperative and did not provide details about the incident.


During the incident, police learned that a vehicle had been struck by gunfire, damaging the vehicle’s windshield. Police searched the area and found six spent shell casings and another unknown projectile outside the venue where the party was taking place.

The incident was assigned to investigators from the Utica Police Department’s GIVE Unit.
