Pedestrian hit and killed in accident on July 3 in Ogdensburg – 92-year-old city woman

OGDENSBURG – The victim of a July 3 car crash involving a pedestrian was a 92-year-old Ogdensburg woman, Ogdensburg police said in a news release issued Monday.

Police confirmed that Roberta J. Hagerty was killed after she was struck by a commercial vehicle in the 300 block of Ford Street at around 2:26 p.m.

Attempts by Good Samaritans and first responders on site to save the life were unsuccessful and Hagerty’s death was pronounced at the scene.

The investigation continues with assistance from the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit. City police were assisted at the scene by the Ogdensburg Fire Department, the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Unit and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
