Two people arrested during investigation into drug trafficking in Adel

On Friday, June 28, 2024, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Hahira Police Department, and Georgia State Patrol arrested Shyiem Marquon Banks, 28, and Roderick Dion Collins, 36, during a joint drug trafficking investigation in Adel, Georgia. A search warrant executed on June 28, 2024 at Collins and Banks’ home resulted in the seizure of 210 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 3.2 pounds of suspected marijuana, 13 grams of suspected Alpha-PVP (Flakka/Bath Salts), over 90 suspected Oxycodone pills, and 2 firearms.

Banks is charged with three counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance with intent to resell, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, among others. Collins is charged with two counts of conspiracy to traffic in methamphetamine, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance with intent to resell, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Both men were taken to the Cook County Jail following their arrest.

The goal of this investigation is to impact the current street drug trade in Adel, Cook County, Georgia and create a safer environment for the productive citizens of the county.
