Worker dies in accident at Mines II in Neyveli

A worker of NLC India Ltd’s (NLCIL) Industrial Cooperative Service Society (Indcoserve) was killed on Monday when he got caught in a lignite conveyor belt at the upper bench of Mines II in Neyveli.

The victim was identified as K. Anbalagan, 51, of Pudu Elavarasanpattu village.

According to police, the incident took place at 9:45 am when Anbalagan was working near the conveyor belt and got stuck in it. Workers at the site immediately cut off the power supply to the conveyor belt and recovered his body. The body has been sent to Government Villupuram Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered.
