One dead in police-involved shooting in Easley

EASLEY, SC (WSPA) – One person is dead following a police-involved shooting in Easley Monday morning.

According to Easley police, officers received a call at 10:50 a.m. about a suspect threatening physical violence against a manager at Tractor Supply Company, located at 339 Rolling Hills Circle in Easley, after he was confronted about an attempted theft of merchandise.


During their operation, officers received additional information that the suspect had moved to the 700 block of Rolling Hills Circle, retrieved a gas can, and threatened to pour gasoline on a caller’s vehicle.

Officers found the suspect on site and attempted to de-escalate the situation.

During the incident, at least one officer fired his weapon.

The Pickens County Coroner’s Office said it was on scene.

The South Carolina Division of Law Enforcement has been asked to investigate the shooting.
