Investigation underway after fisherman finds sunken truck in Scioto River

On the morning of July 6 at approximately 10:20 a.m., fire crews were dispatched to the intersection of Lane Rd. and Riverside Dr. after a fisherman spotted a submerged truck and called 911.

A Columbus Fire Department spokesman said Columbus Fire Department divers found an overturned vehicle in the Scioto River, about 15 feet underwater. They also discovered an opening in the trees that investigators believe a car may have driven through. Investigators said they believe the car was underwater for a period of time due to mud on the truck.
