Rep. Tony Gonzales makes a statement on the NSF decision to suspend the UTEP aerospace grant

Congressman Tony Gonzales (TX-23) issued a statement regarding the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) decision to suspend a grant of up to $160 million through UTEP to advance aerospace initiatives in the El Paso region.

“I appreciate UTEP’s leadership for identifying the issue of faculty falsifying grant applications through an internal audit and immediately correcting the issue. The integrity of the university and its leadership is clearly beyond reproach. I look forward to the El Paso community’s continued partnership with UTEP on future state-funded projects. “I am encouraged to hear about the nationwide search for a new vice president of the UTEP Aerospace Center,” said Congressman Tony Gonzales.
