Motorcyclist killed in accident with driver in DTLA

LOS ANGELES – A 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed in downtown Los Angeles when he collided with a turning vehicle, authorities said Monday.

According to a dispatcher at the Los Angeles Police Department’s operations center, the fatal accident was reported at 4:12 p.m. Sunday at the corner of Alameda Street and Industrial Street.

The vehicle turned south from Industrial Street onto Alameda Street, and the man on the motorcycle struck the vehicle, she said. The motorcyclist was ejected.

He was taken by ambulance to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, the dispatcher said.

The name of the driver was not released until relatives were notified.
