Mpumalanga man in court for repeatedly raping elderly women

Police arrest suspected grandma rapist

Mpumalanga Police arrested the young man on 7 July 2024 after he allegedly assaulted and repeatedly raped a 77-year-old woman in Dikweteng village in Dientjie. Captain Magonseni Nkosi said Short messages that the suspect broke into the elderly woman’s home on July 3, 2024 and brutally attacked her for two days:

“It is alleged that the grandmother managed to call for help on Friday (July 5, 2024). The suspect is said to have fled before community members responded to the call.”

Nkosi added that the suspect had already been arrested in March 2024 after allegedly raping and stabbing an 83-year-old woman in the same village:

“The 83-year-old grandmother was admitted to hospital where she lost her life in May (2024). The suspect was arrested and released on R1000 bail.”

A 21-year-old man is alleged to have raped an older woman

Short messages It was previously reported that a 21-year-old man in KwaZulu-Natal allegedly raped an 84-year-old grandmother.

The man is said to have forced himself on the 84-year-old while she was sleeping in the village of Esibizane near Newtonville in Creighton.

The suspect’s family reportedly tried to keep the alleged incident secret and offered to pay compensation to the grandmother.
