Temperatures are expected to reach almost 100 degrees today, with storms expected on Wednesday

NOW NEW: HOT, DARK AND HUMID – like every summer lover’s dream! Temperatures today will feel like they’re in the triple digits (95-100 degrees) across the state with minimal, isolated chances of thunderstorms after 2 p.m. in the central and southern parts. Tomorrow will see a similar trend with a few more clouds in the sky.



NEXT: A volatile pattern of widespread rain and storms will develop mid-week through Wednesday. The remnants of Hurricane Beryl will move closer with rain through Thursday/Friday. A cooling effect from the heat is in sight during the same period through the weekend.


FORECAST:

TONIGHT: Summer feeling with persistent heat and humidity – 89 degrees. Lows at night around 73.





TUESDAY: Hot, hazy and humid with highs in the 80s. Showers and thunderstorms possible in the afternoon, especially in Litchfield County. Nighttime lows in the 72s.

WEDNESDAY: More clouds with widespread rain and storms. Some storms could become severe, with the main threat being heavy rain and localized flooding likely. Highs around 86. Nighttime lows around 72.


THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with showers and beryl residue. Highs around 85. Nighttime lows around 70.
