THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Human Rights Commission on Sunday initiated proceedings against a coach of the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) after he was accused of sexually harassing minor girls. The commission has sought an explanation from the KCA on the case. The accused, Manu, has been arrested and is in judicial custody. The Child Rights Commission had previously taken up the case.

The police have filed six Pocso cases against him. Manu is accused of assaulting girls who had come for training. One of the victims had said that Manu tried to sexually assault her at the KCA headquarters.

According to the complaint, he took the girls to Thenkasi and sexually abused them. It is also alleged that he took nude photographs of them. Other people filed complaints against him after the police booked him under the Pocso Act. Manu, who had been working with the KCA for the last 10 years, was dismissed from his job following the complaint.
