High school student arrested for possession of fake gun: Connecticut police

While the school was on lockdown, officers located the student who was in possession of a fake firearm.

WINDSOR, Conn. — A Windsor High School student was arrested Thursday after he was found with a fake gun at school, police said.

Shortly before 11 a.m., officers were called to the school for a report of a student in the bathroom with a handgun.

When police responded, the school was put on lockdown. The lockdown was lifted 30 minutes later.

During the lockdown, officers located the student who was in possession of a fake firearm.

The 16-year-old student was arrested and charged with breach of the peace. The teenager was then released to a parent and is expected to appear in court.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
