The ridge causing this heat wave is now moving east. The ridge will be directly over the region on Tuesday, making it the hottest day of the week.

Starting Wednesday, several shortwave troughs will move into the region and break through the ridge. As a result of the shortwaves, locally windy conditions will develop in the Columbia Basin and Kittitas Valley. We will likely experience sustained winds of 25 mph or more.
