Man stabs woman in Vancouver and injures himself

VANCOUVER, Washington – A woman is dead after she was stabbed Sunday night by a man she knew who also stabbed himself, Vancouver police said.

At around 7:45 p.m., officers were called to a disturbance on Southeast 160th Avenue, just off Mill Plain Boulevard.

The woman, whose identity will not be determined until the Clark County Coroner’s Office completes an autopsy, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was taken to the hospital after officers administered first aid. His condition is unknown and he has not yet been identified or charged.

Vancouver police did not provide any information about how the suspect and the victim knew each other.

The Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating the death.
