Man dies in shooting in Lincoln

A 25-year-old man is dead and a 20-year-old man is in custody after a shooting occurred near a business parking lot in southwest Lincoln Friday night. Lincoln police were called to S Coddington Avenue and WA Street around 10 p.m. because of shots being fired and cars fleeing the area. When officers arrived, they found a Lincoln man suffering from a gunshot wound, police authorities said. Lincoln police said paramedics took him to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Lincoln police said Ge’Auvieon Crayton was arrested Saturday night in connection with the shooting. Investigators said several people were present at the time of the shooting, adding that they are working to identify additional witnesses. No other suspects are being sought at this time, Lincoln police said. LPD is urging the public with any information to call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600. When officers arrived, they found a Lincoln man suffering from a gunshot wound, authorities said.

Lincoln police said paramedics took him to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
