Dartmouth student found dead in Connecticut River

Hanover police are investigating the death of a student at Dartmouth College.

The body of 20-year-old Won Jang was found in the Connecticut River around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, approximately 20 yards offshore from the docks on Boathouse Road. Jang was reported missing just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon after he was last seen in the same area around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night.


A coroner has not yet determined a cause of death, but authorities do not suspect foul play. New Hampshire Fish and Game led the search of the river, assisted by the New Hampshire Marine Patrol and firefighters from Hanover, Lebanon and Hartford, Vermont.
