CCTV appeal after ‘horrific’ attack by youths on lollipop man and arrest of 13-year-old boy

Police have called for CCTV surveillance after a gang of youths on e-bikes carried out a “horrific” attack on a lollipop seller in Lancashire.

The shocking incident happened on Black Bull Lane in the Fulwood area of ​​the city at around 3.34pm on Wednesday (June 12). Lancashire Police said a man in his 70s was attacked by youths who were “behaving antisocially on electric bikes”.

The victim was taken to hospital with broken ribs after the attack. A 13-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault under Section 18.

The boy, from Preston, remained in custody for questioning yesterday (June 16), officers said in a Facebook appeal. Police have now released CCTV footage of a person on a bicycle who they want to speak to about the attack.

“We know you can’t see her face, but we know her colleagues and people in the community know who it is,” police said. “We ask that you do the right thing and contact police as soon as possible.”
