Stolen car rams Philadelphia police patrol car during traffic stop; suspect arrested

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A suspect was arrested after a stolen vehicle rammed a Philadelphia police patrol car Saturday night.

It happened around 9 p.m. along Broad Street and Susquehanna Avenue.

According to authorities, an officer was conducting a traffic stop when the patrol car was struck.

The other vehicle, which had been reported stolen, was used to flee the scene of the accident.

Investigators later found the car stopped at the corner of North Orkney Street and West Cumberland Street.

From there, a suspect fled the area on foot, according to officials.

The suspect was later arrested on Lawrence Street.

According to police, the officer who was in the patrol car at the time of the collision was not injured.

There is no information yet about the suspect or the cause of the collision.
