Stabbing on Long Island: Police say one person was seriously injured in a stabbing at Adventureland amusement park

EAST FARMINGDALE, Long Island (WABC) – One person is in serious condition following a stabbing at Adventureland amusement park in East Farmingdale, Suffolk County police said.

According to a park spokesman, an argument broke out between two families in the park shortly before 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Park security arrived at the scene and called police and first responders.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

One person is in police custody.

After the situation was clarified, the park remained open after 8 p.m.

A statement from a park spokesperson said, among other things:

“For more than 60 years, Adventureland has provided a convenient, affordable and fun destination for families on Long Island. The safety of our visitors is our highest priority.”
