17-year-old shot dead in Lawrence – Boston 25 News

LAWRENCE, Massachusetts – A 17-year-old is dead after a shooting Saturday night in Lawrence.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired on Brook Street around 9:47 p.m. and found a 17-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds, the Essex County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

The injured teenager was treated at the scene by paramedics and emergency medical technicians and then taken to Lawrence General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Lawrence police and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit for Essex County are investigating the fatal shooting.

“Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker, Lawrence Police Chief Melix Bonilla and investigating law enforcement officials are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward,” the prosecutor’s office said.
