Two dead after domestic violence incident in St. Johnsbury

According to the Vermont State Police, two people were killed in a domestic violence incident at a home in St. Johnsbury.

The incident occurred on Cottage Street. St. Johnsbury police were the first to respond shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Sunday and found a man dead. Several other people were injured, one of whom has since died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Autopsies are being performed on both.


Officials asked VSP to lead the investigation. Based on what officials know so far, they believe there is no ongoing safety threat to the public. They also believe all those involved in the altercation were from the St. Johnsbury area. As of Sunday evening, none of their names have been released; no one is in custody.
