Expect delays on I-5: Semi-trailer driver suffers serious injuries

Washington State Patrol (WSP) officers responded to a semi-trailer accident on Interstate 5 (I-5) north of Southcenter on Sunday.

According to WSP, a semi-trailer loaded with vegetables left the highway. The driver was seriously injured.

A picture taken by police officers at the scene shows the truck wedged between an overpass support and the undergrowth along the highway. It also shows that the guardrail has been completely torn from its support.

Police said a tow truck was on the way, but lengthy delays were expected.
