Waterbury Police patrol car responding to emergency call struck by car – NBC Connecticut

A Waterbury Police patrol car was struck by a car while responding to an emergency call on Sunday and two people were injured in the collision.

According to police, the accident occurred around 1:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Main Street.

The police officer and the passenger of the other vehicle were taken to hospital. Both injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

The driver of the other vehicle was identified as a 41-year-old from Waterbury and was held responsible for the accident.

According to police, the driver was charged with ignoring the right of way when turning left and driving a motor vehicle without a license.
