1 dead, several injured after altercation in St. Johnsbury

According to the Vermont State Police, a man was killed and several people were injured in an altercation at a house in St. Johnsbury on Sunday morning.

In a press release Sunday morning, state police described the incident as “isolated” and said they believe those involved knew each other and “have been arrested.”

The injured were taken to hospital and their condition is “currently unknown,” the press release said. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy on the deceased to determine the cause and manner of death.

The police will announce the names of those involved “after further investigations and notification of relatives,” the press release states.

The investigation is being led by the Vermont State Police with assistance from the St. Johnsbury Police Department.
