Edwardsburg resident injured in car crash – Leader Publications

CASSOPOLIS – Officers with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury crash near the intersection of Hospital Street and M-60 at approximately 8:47 p.m. Saturday.

Investigations revealed that 20-year-old Breanna Kowalczyk of Edwardsburg was traveling westbound on Hospital Street when she ignored the stop sign at the corner of Hospital and M-60.

Kowalczyk lost control of the vehicle, crashed down an embankment, and eventually came to a stop in a wooded area on the west side of M-60. Kowalczyk was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash.

Seatbelts were worn and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. Assisting with this accident were the Cassopolis Police Department, Pokagon Tribal Police Department, Central Cass Fire Department and SMCAS EMS.
