Police investigate shooting in Lexington on West Sixth Street that allegedly left glass-shattered injuries

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (FOX 56) – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred downtown in the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to Lexington police, officers were dispatched to the West Sixth Street area in Lexington around 4:11 a.m. Sunday after receiving a call reporting shots fired.


When officers arrived, a man had sustained “glass splinter injuries” believed to have been caused by gunfire. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said the preliminary investigation found no further evidence of gunfire or property damage. The shooting remains under investigation.
