Dog in stroller attacked by another dog in seaside resort

Police are investigating a dog attack in Whitby.

It happened in the city Bus stop at about 18.40 hrs At Friday, June 28.

A woman got off the bus with her partner and their dog, who was in a stroller due to his age.

At that moment her pet was attacked by another dog.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Her partner had to intervene to separate the two dogs.

“A man in his twenties had the attacking dog on a leash, but that did not stop the dog from attacking.

“A woman also travelling on the bus appears to have met the man with the dog and an argument ensued before the parties separated.”

The male dog owner is described as

  • White
  • 25 years old
  • of slim stature
  • with blonde to light red hair
  • wear a light top
  • and dark shorts.

The woman who met the man is described as

  • White
  • in their early 20s
  • of large stature, possibly pregnant
  • with brown shoulder-length hair
  • wears a striped top.

Numerous people are said to have witnessed the incident. Police are appealing for anyone who knows the people involved, has video footage or other relevant information to come forward – see details below.
