Man found dead in downtown Greenville

The 25-year-old was pronounced dead at around 8:11 a.m.

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (WSPA) — A young man died in downtown Greenville after being found unconscious.

According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, the man was found on an outside staircase in the 200 block of North Main Street around 7:54 a.m.

The emergency services declared the man dead at the scene of the accident.

The coroner identified the deceased man as Ismael Corona Alvarez. He was 25 years old.

An autopsy of Alvarez is scheduled for Monday.

The case is being investigated by the Greenville Medical Examiner and the Greenville City Police Department.
