Fatal ATV accident reported in southwest Alabama

According to local emergency officials, a fatal accident involving an off-road vehicle was reported in Washington County early Sunday morning.

The McIntosh Volunteer Fire Department said on Facebook that it responded to a reported accident around 2 a.m. on a hunting road about two miles off Topton Road, which runs west from McIntosh.

“When we arrived, we found that the ATV had tipped over and the driver was trapped underneath,” the post said. “Unfortunately, the accident was fatal.”

No details were released about the deceased person. The McIntosh VFT post said ASAP EMS, McIntosh Police and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the situation.
