  • DJ Akademiks was accused of rape

  • Fauziya Abashe sues the internet personality for negligent infliction of mental distress and defamation

  • DJ Akademiks denies the allegations

Internet star DJ Akademiks has been accused of sexual abuse and defamation, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

DJ Akademiks (née Livingston Allen) was sued by Fauziya Abashe, who claimed in July 2022 that Unofficially Podcaster raped her in his New Jersey home after she was drugged and raped by two of his friends. Abashe is suing him for negligent infliction of emotional distress and defamation.

She said she met Allen the year before through social media and they dated casually, but by July 2022, the two were no longer speaking when he contacted her, according to Superior Court of New Jersey documents. When they arrived, his two friends – referred to in the complaint as John Does 1 and 2 – spoke with her before following her to Allen’s hot tub.

Abashe claimed the two friends gave her alcohol, which left her “extremely lightheaded and dizzy.” John Doe 1 then allegedly “became very pushy as he made aggressive sexual advances toward her” before throwing her into the nearby pool.

As she attempted to climb out of the pool, she claimed John Doe 1 raped her. The lawsuit states that she has “memories of fighting off her attackers but feeling extremely weak while doing so.”

Abashe was in and out of consciousness for the rest of the evening, and then she was allegedly raped by the men on Allen’s pool deck. She claimed she woke up around 4 a.m. with Allen in bed, where he allegedly “brutally raped” her.

Abashe was unaware of the sexual assault and only learned about it the next morning when Allen showed her surveillance footage of the sexual assault.

After the assaults, Abashe reported the attacks to the police, who then conducted a rape test on her, “which proves that Ms. Abashe had been sexually abused.”

After reporting the assaults, Abashe “remained silent,” according to the filing, until December 30, 2023, when Allen allegedly defamed her on social media, publicly claiming that Abashe “voluntarily hosted an orgy with his friends at his home while claiming he did not participate in it at all.”

Allen has more than 1.5 million followers on X, more than 2.8 million subscribers on YouTube, and 500,000 followers on Twitch.

In the December 2023 video, Allen claimed he returned from a party after inviting an unnamed woman to his home, which he forgot to do. In the video, he claimed that Abashe willingly had sex with the two men.

According to the WashingtonPostAllen denied the allegations in video clips he shared on one of his X accounts on Tuesday, May 14. He said police had already cleared him of any wrongdoing, adding: “Whatever this is will be dealt with in court.”

Allen said in a Rumble livestream on Tuesday afternoon that the filing was “blackmail,” adding: “This is a money tree situation,” reports Rolling Stone.

Abashe said in a statement to Rolling Stone: “I am confident that justice will prevail and the veil will be lifted so that no other woman will have to endure what I went through.”

Her attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, added: “Litigation is always a last resort. After several unsuccessful attempts to resolve this matter privately, Ms. Abashe was left with no choice but to file the lawsuit. Mr. Allen’s hubris will be his downfall.” Blackburn is also currently representing music producer Rodney Jones and yacht stewardess Grace O’Marcaigh against Sean “Diddy” Combs and Christian Combs.
