Georgia school employees and friends who were together at weddings are accused of sexually abusing students

Two Georgia school employees are accused of sexually abusing students. The two described themselves as “ride or die” friends who were involved in each other’s weddings.

Former Calhoun City Schools employee Railey Greeson was charged Thursday with two counts of first-degree sexual contact by an employee or agent for having sex with two different male students between October 2021 and January 2022, according to WXIA-TV. Brooklyn Shuler was charged with one count of the same allegation for having sex with another male student between October 2021 and January 2022.

Under Georgia law, a conviction for first-degree sexual abuse by an employee or agent carries a minimum of one year in prison and up to 25 years in prison. However, if the victims are under 16, the penalty is between 10 and 30 years in prison.

The ages of the alleged victims were not disclosed.

The women’s cases were processed at the Gordon County Jail and both were released on $10,000 bail.

The roles of the two women in the school district have not been disclosed.

Both suspects are no longer employed by Calhoun City Schools, but it was not stated whether they resigned or were fired.

The Calhoun Times reported that Shuler currently works as a fourth-grade teacher at Red Bud Elementary School, which is in another school district.

According to the New York Post, Greeson described her as her “best friend” and her “ride or die.”

According to a now-deleted wedding website, Shuler was a bridesmaid at Greeson’s October 2023 wedding. Meanwhile, Greeson was Shuler’s maid of honor at her November 2022 wedding.

Greeson was reportedly a 2019 graduate of Calhoun High School and will graduate from Kennesaw State in 2023.

The Daily Mail reported that both women are around 23 years old. About Shuler, the newspaper noted: “It appears that she is no longer with the man she married in November 2022, as he has a child with a new woman, according to his Facebook profile.”

Calhoun City Schools did not respond to The New York Post’s request for comment.
