Police investigate “rape of 17-year-old girl in Rubery forest”

Detectives have launched an investigation after a 17-year-old girl reported being raped in Rubery. The alleged assault occurred at around 12.45pm on July 4 in woodland near Gannow Green Lane.

Officers searching for a suspect have conducted CCTV and forensic searches in the area. Specialist officers are “assisting the girl,” police said.



West Midlands Police issued a statement this afternoon about the serious incident after BirminghamLive contacted police. Police confirmed to us that no arrests had been made.

A police spokesman told BirminghamLive: “We are investigating after a 17-year-old girl was raped in woodland in Rubery. Officers are carrying out CCTV examinations, forensic searches and other enquiries to identify the suspect.”
