23-year-old man charged in fatal shooting at Nurmi Isles in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida. – A 23-year-old man is accused of shooting a 44-year-old man he knew well in Broward County on Sunday.

Police arrested Darien Turner on Saturday in Nurmi Isles in Fort Lauderdale after he shot Christian Colon, who was in a relationship with his mother.

According to Detective Ali Adamson, a spokeswoman for the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, officers found him dead shortly after 10:45 a.m. on Nurmi Drive, north of East Las Olas Boulevard.

Broward County inmate records show that Turner is charged with first-degree murder.
