BMW crash in Mumbai: Who is Mihir Shah, the fugitive son of Shiv Sena leader? | Latest News from India

A woman died on Sunday morning in Mumbai’s Worli district when her two-wheeler was hit by a BMW, police said. The car was reportedly driven by Mihir Shah, the son of a politician from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena.

According to Worli police, Kaveri Nakhwa, 45, was travelling with her husband Pradip on Annie Besant Road when the driver of the luxury car lost control around 5.30 am. Kaveri fell on the road and was declared dead on admission to the hospital. Her husband was discharged after treatment.

Who is Mihir Shah?

1. Mihir Shah, 23, is the son of Rajesh Shah, a politician of the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction).

2. Mihir Shah and Rajrishi Bidawar, in his early thirties, were reportedly in the BMW during the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest that Mihir Shah was driving the car at the time of the incident, however, he is currently missing and wanted by the police.

3. According to investigations, Shah and Bidawar were on their way home after a long drive along Marine Drive.

4. Police have yet to determine whether the driver was drunk and plan to conduct medical tests and collect blood samples.

5. Based on the statement of Pradeep Nakhawa, a case was registered under various sections of the BNS and the Motor Vehicle Act including sections 105, 281, 125(b), 238, 324(4), 184, 134(a), 134(b) and 187.

Latest information on the Worli BMW accident

The BMW was seized and taken to the police station. Investigations are ongoing. Mihir Shah is currently absconding and his father Rajesh Shah is being questioned. Rajrishi Rajendra Singh Bidawat, who was in the car during the incident, has been arrested for further investigation.
