Longtime Atlanta Braves Captain and HOF Member Bobby Cox Makes Rare Appearance at Truist Park – 95.5 WSB

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves took matters into their own hands Saturday, beating the Philadelphia Phillies 5-1.

While the home team didn’t need any luck, the appearance of a Braves legend and staple made a rare appearance.

Former Atlanta Braves player and manager Bobby Cox appeared at Truist Park on Saturday night, where he was greeted with a rousing ovation from fans and Braves faithful.

In 2019, Cox suffered a stroke and has only been seen in public a few times since then.

Cox was the team’s manager for 25 years and led the Braves to 14 consecutive division titles from 1991 to 2005, including the World Series championship in 1995.

During his career, he managed 4,505 games and compiled a record of 2,504-2,001 (.556).

In 2014, Cox was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, along with two of his three great starting pitchers, Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine.
