Amtrak service from New York City to Boston suspended due to power problems

Amtrak service between New York and Boston has been suspended for the remainder of the day, the railroad company said Saturday afternoon. The service interruption was due to a faulty circuit breaker that caused a power outage on all tracks between Penn Station in New York and Union Station in New Haven, Connecticut. Amtrak said it would provide an update on the suspension in a message posted on its website at 3:30 p.m. Customers with reservations on affected trains are typically rebooked on trains with similar departure times or on a different day, the railroad company said. Amtrak will also waive additional fees for customers who wish to change their reservations.
