Third suspect arrested in shooting at Juneteenth celebration in Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — A third suspect was arrested Saturday in connection with the fatal June 15 shooting at a Juneteenth celebration in Round Rock.

The incident occurred in Old Settlers Park and left two people dead and 14 injured after a fight broke out between two groups, according to police. The victims were innocent bystanders.


According to Round Rock police, 18-year-old Keshawn Dixon was arrested in Killeen and taken to the Bell County Jail.

According to RRPD, Dixon was charged with deadly conduct, a third-degree felony. Police said there is also the possibility of additional charges.

On Saturday evening, the RRPD said the investigation was still ongoing and that the department would continue to follow up on leads regarding additional suspects.

On June 20, police arrested 17-year-old Ricky Thompson III in connection with the shooting. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On June 21, police announced the arrest of a second suspect, a male juvenile. The unnamed suspect was taken to the Williamson County Detention Center.
