Arthur man charged with drink driving in Woolwich


Waterloo Regional Police have arrested and charged a 54-year-old man after he collided with another vehicle and a utility pole in Woolwich Township.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Friday night in the area of ​​Arthur St. North and Sandy Hills Dr.

According to police, the 54-year-old was driving on Sandy Hills Road when he crashed into a Hyundai Elantra driving in front of him.

After the collision with the vehicle, the driver crashed into a power pole.

According to police, no physical injuries were reported in the incident.

The driver has been identified as a 54-year-old man from Arthur. He is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

Arthur St. North was closed between Seiling Rd. and Sandy Hills Dr. for several hours while repairs were being made to the power pole.
