What are savannah bananas?

BUFFALO, NY — Yesterday, Buffalo came together for round two of Banana Ball!

At Friday night’s game, almost every seat was filled, so we wanted to hear from some out-of-towners.

2 Alongside you, I met Cathy Bishop from Orange County, California, who was here for her first match.

“I’ve never heard of it in California. But it’ll be a good time,” Bishop said.

Jolene Barry is from Chicago, Illinois. This is her fourth Savannah Banana game. She is visiting Buffalo with her friends and children.

“Have you seen the Bananas? They’re crazy! They’re awesome! We haven’t seen The Firefighters yet. We’ve seen The Party Animals, The Bananas, and The Visitors. So we got to see The Firefighters today,” Bishop shared. “Last year it was just a random draw with the lottery, and then this year we got in a little bit earlier because we went last year.”

It was a sold-out game on Saturday, and they’re back for more this afternoon.
