South Carolina man who allegedly wanted to “show off” dies in fireworks accident

A South Carolina Man died in an accident involving fireworks on the fourth of Julyaccording to Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office records.

According to the incident report, the 41-year-old Summerville man was trying to “show off” when he put a firework on his head.

The man’s wife told officers that they were hosting a street party and that her husband, Allen McGrew, had been drinking for several hours before the accident happened shortly before 10:30 p.m.

She said she saw her husband put a firework on his head, which she said was done to “show off.”

According to the coroner’s report obtained by FOX, the man lit a large firework in the residential street and put it on his head. The firework exploded on his head, causing severe head injuries.

The incident report states that his wife told him to stop when the fireworks suddenly went off and spectators saw him collapse.

She told The Post and Courier that July 4 was her husband’s favorite holiday and that he died doing what he loved.

The Post and Courier reported the fireworks in connection with McGrew’s death was legal but did not go into it in more detail.
