After drone attack in Ukraine, state of emergency declared in Russian region of Voronezh

NEW DELHI: A Emergency was in parts of Russia‘S Voronezh Region after a Ukrainian Drone attack ignited a warehouse fire, the region’s governor said on Sunday. “There were no injuries,” Alexander Gusev said on the messaging app Telegram, adding that some residents in the Podgorensky District were evacuated.
“The detonation of explosive devices continues,” Gusev said, pointing out that dangers remain in the affected area.
“Several drones were detected and destroyed by air defense systems over the Voronezh region overnight,” Alexander Gusev wrote on Telegram.
“Their falling debris sparked a fire at a depot in Podgorensky district, where “explosives began to detonate,” Gusev said, adding there was no indication that anyone was injured.
Russia and Ukraine Since the start of the Russian military operation in February 2022, Russia has made extensive use of drones, including large explosive devices with a range of hundreds of kilometers.
