Malaysian film director Mansor Puteh dies in accident at the age of 70

PETALING JAYA, July 7 – Film director and critic Mansor Puteh, 70, died today when his car skidded and hit a divider in Alam Damai, Cheras.

Kuala Lumpur Police and Traffic Investigation Department chief ACP Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said the accident, which occurred at about 10.10am, resulted in the Proton Iswara car driven by Mansor going out of control, skidding and hitting the road barrier.

“As a result of the accident, the victim suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

Sarifudin said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The news was announced by the deceased’s niece, Adeed Adillah Abdullah, on her Facebook account.

They said that after the autopsy and final preparations, once all arrangements are completed, Mansor’s remains will be brought to Melaka for burial the same evening.
